One of the most common questions found on this forum is what lens to get?. Often this question is asked by someone who describes themselves as new to dslr or awaiting the arrival of their newly purchased camera. I would like to make the following suggestions before someone considers purchasing a new lens to replace the kit lens:-Taken directly from this dpreview.com forum thread regarding the kit lens (EF-S 18-55/3.5-5.6).

These photos were taken on a very cold Winter day during a long lunch break. I just wanted to get out of the freezing weather, so I ducked into two local cathedrals - St. Bart's Cathedral (Park and 50th St), and St. Patricks Cathedral (5th and 51st).
